The weekend - without the teachers
On Saturday morning my host and I, Olivia and her partner travelled to Köln. We took the train from Bergisch Gladbach to Köln (a 20 minute journey) and met them outside the Roman museum; next to the Kölner Dom. The city was extremely busy and it was exciting and very interesting to look at the different shops that we don't have in the UK. We walked past a small German market selling different foods that i'd never had before; including Weckermänner( a bread man) as they are building up to the arrival of Saint Nicholas. After spending most of the day shopping; we returned back to my host's house, where we got ready for the Tanzen Ball. The evening was spent at the ball where we danced and watched performances by the local dance school. On Sunday we drove to Köln/Bonn Airport where we met with the other students before boarding our flight back to Manchester in the afternoon.
